The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association® (CIAA) proudly hosts its annual CIAA Education Day on February 25th as part of the 2015 Men’s and Women’s Basketball Tournament in Charlotte, N.C.
The event reaches more than 5,000 Charlotte-area middle and high school students with dedicated programs for each age group. Attendees will be able to meet with CIAA institutions face-to-face and learn how to prepare for college and details on the collegiate experience as you meet with different CIAA institutions.
Always one of the CIAA’s biggest events, 2015 CIAA Education Day will take place Wednesday, February 25 at the Charlotte Convention Center. The high school program is from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., while the Middle School Program is from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Groups, students, parents and counselors may check-in beginning one hour prior to the start of their program.
The event kicks-off with an opening session that includes a sponsor welcome and remarks, student and teacher recognitions and an inspirational speaker. For the High School Program, there also is a special presentation honoring 4.0 scholars. Attendees then visit the various institutions’ booths and event vendors.
College recruiters attending Education Day include schools from Maryland, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Virginia. The program is free to middle school and high school aged students in from the Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools, as well surrounding North Carolina counties and other states.
Attendees can park for a minimal fee at surrounding parking garages, including the NASCAR Hall of Fame parking lot, located at 400 E.
